I hate John Aielli. He is insufferably arrogant and trite and narcissistic and annoying. I can't stand him. What makes him think we give a shit about his mundane personal life and banal ruminations. And what makes him think we want to hear every single version of a given song that has ever been recorded? Or that we want to hear every song that has anything whatsoever to do with some obscure theme that he thinks relevant. And if he talks about his stupid blog one more time, I think I will lose it. For realz. Why can't KUT subscribe to a good music show, like, "Morning Becomes Eclectic"? Pay attention, John. That's how the pros do it. I hate John Aielli. Hate. Him.

Ha ha. I tend to agree, though I still used to listen to Electicos at work. He did talk to much about stupid shit and play every song with the words cold, rain, or wind in them every time a front blows through.
KGSR is a decent alternative, though lately all I listen to is Bright Eyes.
really? i used to like bright eyes. but now he gets on my nerves. like the plague. maybe i'm just old and cranky. i do like some things. i just can't think of any right now...

John Oily is the "DJ" for Electikos on KUT 90.5 from 9am to 1pm. He plays some good stuff, some shitty stuff, and 10 different versions of everything else. And he loves the sound of his own boring ass monotone voice.
Bright Eyes is a band, which judging from your Sirius choices, you would probably hate.
The latest album is really good.
Hi, I like John. He's a great singer, and he knows his stuff. He's turned me on to so much music in the Classical realm such as Poulanc, Straus, and Beethoven (piano stuff).
I don't listen much lately.
I think he got the shaft from KUT regarding his show. So did Theresa Ferguson.

I used to set my alarm for nine most days, but have foresaken a half hour of sleep each day because I can not stand that douche bag being the first thing I hear in the morning.
He sucks.
i hate, hate, hate him too! if i hear his voice i have to turn the dial to another station. i saw an amazing bumper sticker: 'if you don't talk to your kids about john aielli, who will?'do we really care about his garden? this morning, he actually CONGRATULATED south austinites for having gotten rain over the weekend. gee, thanks, john! i worked so hard at it.

He has also been giving away tickets to things but requiring the winner to call in and correctly guess what color or pattern he is wearing. I want to call and give him an earful about how freaking stupid that is and how nobody could possibly give a crap what he is wearing. But I'm afraid I'll totally lose it.
What a loser that guy is. Come on, Austin! At least his show has been shortened. It's a start...
